Bean, in case that mistletoe doesn't work for you; if you can manage to stay awake until midnight, you'll be sure to get one then!

December 30, 2008

portfolio review!

Bean is just taking some time to go over his portfolio and 86 the stinkers. Bean just loves this game!

December 29, 2008

think mink

Only in Bean's dreams would he have matching purple mink accessories and his initials in each of them. But, this is the best nun movie for my money.

December 26, 2008

hot cocoa?

I'm making some hot chocolate, would you like some? Unfortunately, the only marshmallows I can offer you are those which have been in Bean's mouth or on the floor... how about some biscotti instead?

December 25, 2008

favorite one!

Year after year, this is still Bean's favorite present.

no time like presents time

Bean loves presents! Even when they are not opened.
He'll get back to you when he decides on his favorite one...
Enjoy yours and your family this Christmas morn!

December 24, 2008

the potentially dangerous eve

Bean is going to try really hard to not burn the church down by not dropping his candle when the wax drips off the way too small wax stopper thingy and burns him.
Bean, we're with you on that aspiration.

December 22, 2008

hitchin' a sleigh ride

Bean wants to know if you want to go on a sleigh ride with him.
He's got an electric blanket, which he promises will keep you toasty even though there is no place to plug it in.

December 19, 2008

blizzard nyc

Bean says to the blizzard- BRING IT! and I load my purse up with 400 film and ready my old camera.
Hooray for NYC looking like a snow globe!

December 15, 2008

sick day?

Bean isn't feeling well. He just wants to lie around all day in his robe and not drink this stuff and watch this stuff.

December 12, 2008

christmas conundrums 5

While Bean loves decorating the tree, he doesn't like it when, with the help of sap, the tree decorates him.

December 11, 2008

christmas conundrums 4

While Bean loves holiday parties, he could do without the stress of picking out the perfect Holiday Party Sweater.

December 10, 2008

christmas conundrums 3

While Bean loves candy canes, he doesn't like it when his tongue gets caught and cut in it's crevasses.

December 9, 2008

christmas conundrums 2

While Bean loves the classic glass ball ornaments, he doesn't like how easily they break into little tiny pieces.

December 8, 2008

christmas conundrums 1

While Bean loves advent calendars, he can never seem to find one with big enough chocolates.

December 5, 2008

still there

Bean is keeping David close to his heart.
David is still on Bean's mind and in his prayers.

Go David, Go!

December 4, 2008

pray pray

Bean has a dear friend, David, that has to go to the doctor's for a long time tomorrow. So Bean is going to pray for him all day long, and think about him, and tell other people to pray for him, and hug David's mommy in his mind because he can't do it in person.

And then Bean is going to pray that David gets a pretty bandaid (with The Incredibles on it or the ones that look like bacon) and a great big lollipop to share with him.

But I am like an olive tree
flourishing in the house of God;
I trust in God's unfailing love
for ever and ever.

For what you have done I will always praise you
in the presence of your faithful people.
And I will hope in your name,
for your name is good.

-the conclusion of Psalm 52

bring it

Bean enjoyed his Thanksgiving but he's got a message for the holidays- bring it on.

ice, i will cut you.

tangled mess of colored lights, don't make me put you as the hay in the manger!

port wine cheese ball, prepare to meet your maker.

more things...

yams, and the fact that they are called yams.

good 'ol vhs tapes and how cheap they are at thrift stores.

dr. pepper chapstick

November 24, 2008

Bean is spending this week reflecting on all the things he is thankful for. Here are some examples...kittens with socks...

electric blankets and friends to share them with...
and his crazy and loving family...

November 21, 2008

hats a plenty

Or something a little more festive?

Bean, why don't you bring that over here so we can make a nice centerpiece? I can't imagine that is warm or comfortable.

November 18, 2008

November 13, 2008

so vain

Bean didn't get posted yesterday because someone was taking too much time to get ready.
And that someone was me. Please allow Bean to demonstrate...

November 11, 2008

stars and stripes

Bean wants you to know that he had every intention of making a real flag, but his hand started cramping at star number 13. So, sorry Rhode Island and the other 38 states after it. As for the stripes, I am not sure what went wrong there...

Thank you, soldiers!
Happy Veterans Day.

November 10, 2008

early winter birdie

Bean, while I agree that cranberry red is a lovely color, I think you should put that back in the holiday closet. Not everyone might be ready, like you are, to stretch Christmas into a 2 month celebration.
But you can go ahead and pull Sufjan's 5 disc Songs for Christmas off the shelf.

November 7, 2008

sing sing!

Bean and I are going karaoke-ing this weekend.
Bean loves karaoke but sometimes it's hard to get him to sing.
The videos get him every time.

November 6, 2008

I think Bean found the perfect people watching place.

If only the leaves weren't wet.

November 5, 2008

Bean is a little jealous; he wanted to make history.

It's ok, Bean; history isn't like my secret recipe brownies.
You can make it, too; anyone can! History is a never ending story and it's writers are normal people that do extraordinary things. And if you ask me, Bean, I think your odds look pretty good!

November 4, 2008

Nov. 4th

Bean doesn't get to vote today, but he would like to share a favorite quote from the tall bearded man with the tall hat, Abe Lincoln.

"...I know that the Lord is always on the side of the right. But it is my constant anxiety and prayer that I and this nation should be on the Lord's side."

Hooray for democracy!

November 3, 2008

it changed, it fell, it covered

While Bean was preoccupied with pumpkins, fall came to Central Park! So here is a postcard and photo from NYC.
And in typical postcard fashion, Bean would like to add- Wish you were here!
